This antique hardback is beautifully illustrated throughout with a number of colour double-page plates, and sepia photogravure illustrations.

It is bound for Nantwich and Acton Grammar School, with a tooled leather spine.

Contents include a dedication to Sir Henry Irving, an introduction by St. John Ervine, a biographical introduction and an essay 'Shakespeare and Bacon' by the late Sir Henry Irving.

It is in good condition:
- the cover has some wear and rubbing on the spine and along the cloth edges.

- there are some marks on the very edges of the pages that you can only see when the book is closed
- there are some small dog-ears

Otherwise there is no writing, tearing or creasing.
